Summary, etc. El presente trabajo pretenderá dar cuenta de cómo se creó el mito de la “Argentina blanca”, de cómo el Estado argentino en su consolidación, a fines de siglo XIX y principios del XX, logró crear ese imaginario, por medio de su sistema educativo, sus herramientas pedagógicas y actores institucionales, de un país sin negros, sin afroargentinos, sin afrodescendientes, para mostrarse como un orgulloso “país de blancos”, diferente al resto de países de Latinoamérica, hijos de la colonia o de la inmigración blanca europea, como única etnia capaz de llevar adelante el progreso nacional.
