Summary, etc.	El Lexique de la terminología linguistique de Jules Marouzeau fue básico en la composición de este diccionario, cuyo propósito fue ser una obra eminentemente útil al estudiante de filología románica de las facultades españolas y que para ello debió ensanchar sus límites. Se hallarán, entonces, definidas algunas nociones de métrica y de retórica que justifican la calificación de filología asignada a su terminología. También se incorporaron términos de fonología y glosemática. Hay casos en que la obra no se limitó a una simple definición del término, sino que bosquejó o sus vicisitudes históricas o una información sobre el estado actual (1953) de la noción que designa.
