Summary, etc. Este libro plantea una historia social de la lepra en la Argentina hasta el año 1970.<br/>En su desarrollo, la autora analiza las discusiones y propuestas de la corporación médica; la primera Conferencia Nacional de Lepra; los debates que dieron lugar a las disposiciones y leyes sobre el problema de la lepra; el rol de los leprólogos y del Patronato de Leprosos de la República Argentina pero también el impacto que la lepra tuvo sobre la población -enferma y sana- así como los conflictos que se generaron en torno a la ubicación de los sanatorios-colonias en las zonas rurales, en un camino que transita desde el tratamiento individual a la profilaxis social y las políticas de estado sobre la enfermedad como problema.
